My daughter IS blessed, and she is a blessing to my husband and me as well as to most everyone she meets. I never would have imagined this life we share - but, well, you know, God makes the unimaginable happen... Even though I recognize profound differences between my daughter and the typical population, I still believe that the similarities far outweigh those differences. Isn't it wonderful that, as parents, we hold the same hopes and dreams for our children. I hope your children meet as many supportive and caring people as my daughter has. I hope they blossom in love.Janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07263629738556756592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7217726456450158516.post-85237069867257273142015-06-26T09:56:50.145-04:002015-06-26T09:56:50.145-04:00How exciting for you! As far as birthdays go, I think her birthday may be the highlight of the year for Sierra, even though we keep the gift-giving pretty low key (She asked for two books this year...). Truthfully, I know what she's doing. She's counting off to her 25th birthday. My husband and I made the mistake of telling her she would have to wait until she was 25 before she could have a boyfriend - I think she's expecting Prince Charming to magically appear on May 28 next year. Eek! On a serious note, it always amazes me to think of God as our loving Father - he loves us regardless of our diagnoses... You and your husband sound like wonderful, purpose-filled, parents. Thanks for visiting today - I hope your weekend is filled with joy.Janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07263629738556756592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7217726456450158516.post-64637871634154659302015-06-26T09:26:34.154-04:002015-06-26T09:26:34.154-04:00Beautiful! I loved your hopes for her and I think they are the hopes we have for all our children no matter what. God made us each and He loves us so big and I think we all have the desire to be loved for who we are.

I hope that people take time and effort to get to know my girl. ~ Yes! I want that for my children too.
deborahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04394941080567713762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7217726456450158516.post-4096010886321035152015-06-26T09:16:00.475-04:002015-06-26T09:16:00.475-04:00I am so glad you went beyond five minutes!! :) Bea...I am so glad you went beyond five minutes!! :) Beautiful thoughts and a big happy birthday to Sierra! I love your honesty. We're about a month away from meeting our second daughter, and (as with the first) I wonder about the label of "healthy" baby - of how we love our children, regardless of what a "diagnosis" may be. Thank you for these beautiful words!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
