Our family is new to the 'North Country' and having weather forecasts predict snowfall in feet (rather than inches) is a bit daunting. It is strange how the snow becomes a metaphor for living... It is so cold most days, the snow just doesn't melt between -- it just ices over, so that when the sky is blue and the sun is shining, caps of ice reflect the light from the windblown snow dunes (now I feel another poem coming on...). It fascinates me, because as the tops grow hard and icy, the inside becomes softer and porous. Kind of like people -- I digress... I am glad you could visit and I wish you gentle snow and white blankets of beauty.
