Old Snow

The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart:
his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
Psalm 55:21

Old snow still lays white

Crusted in ice yet hollow

Treacherous stepping

Thinking about how things aren't always as they seem.  It's easy to see it in the physical world around me.  The snow, the ice, beauty and the beast.  Not always so easy to see it in the emotional and relational world.  But, I always find God in the mix.  Our good God.  Our help.  The next verse in the psalm -- the next thought, the next drawing of breath...

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Amen, right?
